Restaurants, Taverns
Trstenik, during the 19th century was known as a town of merchants, winers, and craftsman. On flower square, people traded with grapes, wine, brandy and various craftsman products, and out the square shops and taverns were located. The number of taverns in Trstenik alone was almost the same in all other bigger cities of that time in Serbia. For travellers and merchants two hotels were working at that time.
The culture of visiting taverns has stayed to this day. Today along with the city walkway and in the surrounding streets, a huge number of cafes with beautiful summer gardens are located. For those who like to grab a bite, Trstenik offers, several restaurants and taverns in which homemade specialities are made. The traditional cuisine is best represented by “Vilin dar” and “Lotos MB” taverns, as for Italian speciality you can visit other restaurants such as “MS” in downtown Trstenik. Not far from the downtown, near the Morava River, tavern, so called, “Rodjino kafančе”, a place where you can enjoy good time, learn local history and tradition and can eat and drink. Restaurant “Zamak” has a great location, on the highway Krusevac-Kraljevo, and culinary specialities are made by the restaurant owner. With interesting story, you can taste the very carefully prepared food, and recopies were created with the combination of Serbian cuisine and experiences which were gained around the world.
On wine card of Trstenik restaurants and Taverns, wines from Trstenik are can be drunk. From authentic wine we can distinguish muscadine. Muscadine Wine is made from the same muscadine grapes and they call it the queen of Serbian vineyards. Muscadine is sweet and harmonic wine of yellowish colour, very nice taste and smell which reminds of basil. it is the connection of tradition and climate on which grapes are raised. Muscadine wine from the family vineyard “Milosavljevic” from the Bucje village . It is located on about 15km from Trstenik and was awarded many medals and international recognition.
“Bridge pub” is the place where, apart from great numbers of drinks and meals, you can have fun and have nice social life. In the pub you can enjoy great atmosphere, you can follow interesting sport events, enjoy great live music, “stand-up” comedy, and compete in “PUB” quizzes. It was made to look like English and Irish pubs, so Saint Patrick Day is celebrated as well as the World Joke Day, but among the guests, favourite events are Christmas Party and costume ball.
